Siemens is in the process of thoroughly testing and validating the performance of the new wind turbine before the product will be officially launched for sale in the near future.

Siemens dominated the offshore wind turbine market during the first half of 2012, installing 108 machines – or 82% of the 132 that were grid-connected across Europe, according to the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA).

REpower installed 20 turbines, or 15% of the total, while troubled manufacturer/developer BARD installed 4 units.

Siemens was responsible for 74% of the total capacity added, against REpower’s 22% and BARD’s 4%.
