Invenergy
has
filed
a
notice
of
intent
with
the
Oregon
Energy
Facilities
Siting
Council
for
the
Heppner
Wind
Energy
project,
which
would
spread
across
some
60,000
acres
(243sq
km)
of
private
land
in
Morrow
County,
a
hotbed
of
wind
development
between
the
Columbia
River
and
Blue
Mountains
in
eastern
Oregon.
"With
an
excellent
wind
resource,
the
area
is
an
optimal
location
for
a
successful
wind
project,"
Invenergy
says
in
a
statement.
