Iberdrola gets PPA for portion of North Dakota wind project

Iberdrola Renewables has secured a power-purchase agreement (PPA) for output from 30MW at its Rugby wind project in North Dakota, US.

The US division of Spanish utility Iberdrola struck the 20-year PPA with Upper Midwest Municipal Power Agency (UMMPA), which will supply the power to 15 communities in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.

The Rugby wind farm is operational and has a total capacity of 149MW from 71 turbines in Pierce County.
