RWE secures A2SEA jack-up vessels for Gwynt y Môr work

The Friedrich Ernestine will start installing turbine foundations this summer

German renewable energy giant RWE Innogy has contracted two jack-up vessels to install turbines at its 576MW Gwynt y Môr offshore wind project off the UK’s North Wales coast.

RWE has secured A2SEA’s Seajack and Seaworker vessels to help it ensure that the wind farm is completed on time in 2014.

The two will work alongside RWE’s purpose-built vessel Friedrich Ernestine, whose arrival has been delayed because of refitting.

The Seajack and Seaworker barges will arrive at the Port of Mostyn in Flintshire, North Wales in 2013.
