Windreich sells 16MW of Bavarian capacity to Swisspower

The wind farm uses Enercon turbines

German developer Windreich has sold 16MW of onshore wind to energy group Swisspower Renewables.

The Swiss company has bought seven turbines sited at the Hof wind farm near Nuremberg in Bavaria, which Windreich finished building in May.

An eighth turbine at the wind farm – which uses Enercon 2.3MW machines – has already been bought by automotive group Daimler to power its operations.

Windreich will continue to operate the Hof plant. It says the Swisspower deal will reap it a profit of about €14m ($17.5m) once project finance is repaid.
