Nordex in 57MW deal to extend Midtfjellet wind farm in Norway

German turbine manufacturer Nordex has won a 57.5MW order to equip the second phase of the Midtfjellet wind farm in Norway.

Nordex will deliver a mixture of its N90 and N100 machines to the project extension, which will bring the wind farm’s total capacity to 110MW.

Sited on the island of Stord, Midtfjellet will be one of the biggest new wind farms in Norway for some years, says Nordex.

The German supplier will next month begin delivering 21 turbines for phase one of the project. Second phase deliveries will begin in March 2013.

Developer Midtfjellet Vindkraft, which is co-owned by two utilities and an independent power-producer, also signed a five-year service agreement with Nordex.
