Ikea-owned wind farm in Sweden orders 90MW from Vestas

Vestas has secured a 90MW turbine supply deal for the Glötesvålen wind farm in Sweden.

The project – owned by furniture giant Ikea – will use 30 of the Danish manufacturer’s V90-3.0 MW machines.

The order came from Swedish developer O2, which is building the wind farm and will operate it on behalf of Ikea.

Installation is expected to be completed in January 2015.

Glötesvålen, in the municipality of Härjedalen in central Sweden, is the retailer’s biggest single wind investment to date, according to Vestas.
