Vestas' 1,100-turbine service deal with EDPR is largest yet

Vestas has signed its largest ever service and maintenance renewal agreement, sealing a deal with Portugal’s EDP Renováveis (EDPR) to take care of more than 1,100 wind turbines in the US and Europe for up to seven years.

The agreement represents a total capacity of 1,897MW, the Danish turbine manufacturer says. More than 70% of the machines are in the US, while the rest are in Spain, France, Romania, Portugal and Italy.

Vestas says the agreement builds on its service capability, made up of local teams and six regional performance, diagnostic and surveillance centres monitoring almost 22,000 turbines globally, equivalent to 37.5GW.
