Vestas secures Inner Mongolia order for 49.5MW of turbines

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order for 49.5MW from Inner Mongolia Guibang Shengtai Investment Co. (GSI).

The order is part of a framework agreement signed by the two companies last year.

Vestas will deliver its V80 turbines to the Wandequan Wind Park, Huitengxile grassland, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The first machines are expected to be delivered during the third quarter of 2012.

Built on Vestas’ 2MW platform, the V80 model is suited for high-wind-speed areas, says the manufacturer.

Vestas has installed more than 1.2GW of V80 turbines in China alone, and more than 8GW worldwide.
