Wind 'viable and necessary' part of mix, says Vestas' man in Asia

In his role as president of Asia-Pacific Vestas Wind Technology Systems, Sean Sutton manages more than 800 sales, project and service personnel scattered across the region. The task does not come without certain challenges.

“There are a number of aspects: market diversity, different stages of market readiness, the cultures and the business models vary greatly from country to country,” he tells Recharge on the sidelines of the New Zealand Wind Energy Association (NZWEA) annual conference in Hamilton.

But as well as the challenges, the opportunities for wind development in the region are enormous, Sutton says.
