Sinovel signs agreement for 1.2GW of projects in Romania

China’s Sinovel has won a contract to supply a 189MW project in Romania, the first deal under a larger agreement.

The new contract for Sinovel's 3MW turbines is the first to come out of a strategic cooperation agreement that the Chinese firm signed with two Romanian developers in Beijing last week, sources at the company tell Recharge.

The agreement will see Sinovel provide equipment and services to 1.2GW of wind farms developed by C-Tech and Rokura up to 2016.

The sources did not reveal the location of the wind farms but Romanian media reports say they are in the Dobrogea region in south-east Romania.
