Argentina's Impsa to build concrete tower plant in Uruguay

Argentina’s Impsa is to build a concrete wind turbine tower factory in Uruguay and an equipment plant in Brazil, Recharge has learned.

Details of the plant in southern Brazil were not provided, but the Uruguayan facility will have an annual capacity of 100 towers. Construction is scheduled to begin by August.

Impsa had success in the first round of Uruguay’s 150MW tenders held by state utility UTE in 2010-11, due partly to being able to promise a high level of local content.
