Moventas
has
already
delivered
the
new-design,
medium-speed
gear
units
for
a
pair
of
the
French
group’s
M5000s
–
the
first
of
more
than
120
planned
under
the
deal.
The
gearing
system
–
which
is
beginning
a
year-long
testing
programme
as
part
of
Areva’s
machine
–
strengthens
Moventas’
product
range
for
European
offshore
and
hostile
environments,
says
the
company.
Moventas
says
that
by
the
end
of
2014,
more
than
120
M5000s
fitted
with
its
gears
will
be
installed
at
German
offshore
wind
farms.
