Vestas secures first order from Guangdong Yueneng in China

Danish manufacturer Vestas has won a 49.4MW turbine order from Chinese developer Guangdong Yueneng Wind Energy.

Guangdong Yueneng will use Vestas’ V90-1.8 and 2.0 MW model turbines at a project at Dengloujiao, Guangdong Province, in southern China.

Installation is scheduled for the third quarter of the year, says Vestas. The 25-turbine order is the manufacturer’s first from Guangdong Yueneng and includes a two-year service and maintenance agreement.

The Danish company claims the “good international reputation” of its products was pivotal in helping the project to secure finance from outside of China – in this case from the European Investment Bank.
