Gamesa says it is time to cash in on wind developments

Gamesa is expecting a big inflow of revenues this year from the completion of a series of wind farms that it can sell. It also predicts that turbine deliveries will increase again.

The Spanish turbine manufacturer and wind developer made a net loss of €21m ($27m) in the first quarter of 2012, compared with a profit of €13m in the same period last year, despite a 33% increase in revenues to €777m.

An earnings before interest and tax (ebit) loss of €5m compared with a previous gain of €28m, as the ebit margin slumped to a negative 0.6%, from 4.7% in the first three months of 2011. However, Gamesa says it is still in line to show a profit and positive free…
