Fourth quarter start set for Oklahoma Blackwell wind farm

Construction will begin in June on the 60MW Blackwell wind project owned by NextEra Energy Resources, with all electricity to be delivered to Oklahoma State University (OSU) for its main Stillwater campus.

The wind farm is scheduled to begin commercial operation in the fourth quarter, Wayne Walker, director of strategic business development at utility Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OGE), tells Recharge.

Regulators at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission earlier this year approved 20-year power purchase agreements between NextEra and OGE, and OGE and OSU .
