Vestas in line to supply turbines to Ukraine wind power project

Vestas says it has received a conditional order to supply wind turbines to a project in Ukraine.

The Danish manufacturer signed the deal with Ukranian energy group DTEK for its Botievo project, but gives no details such as volume or turbine type.

Vestas says it is confirming the order in response to information in the market, and will make a full announcement when the deal becomes firm and unconditional.

A press announcement by DTEK in March said work on the first 200MW Botievo Wind Farm began last year in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporozhye region.

DTEK has a wind-power development portfolio of 1.2GW, according to the statement.
