It
will
be
the
first
offshore
test
for
Siemens’
6MW
machine,
upon
which
the
German
group
has
pinned
its
hopes
for
the
offshore
market
from
2014
–
when
it
begins
serial
production
at
its
new
factory
in
Hull,
England
–
until
at
least
the
end
of
the
decade.
A
prototype
of
the
6MW
machine
has
been
in
place
at
an
onshore
test
site
in
Høvsøre,
Denmark,
since
June
2011.
A
Dong
spokesman
confirms
both
of
the
new
turbines
will
be
installed
on
monopiles
similar
to
the
ones
installed
by
MT
Højgaard…
