Danish wind turbine group Vestas has secured a 50MW order for the fourth phase of the Mishan project being developed by China Guangdong Nuclear (CGN).

The Chinese group will use Vestas’ V90-2.0 MW machines to bring the total capacity of Mishan to 200MW.

Vestas turbines have already been ordered for the first three stages of the development in northeastern China.

The latest deal includes installation and commissioning, and a two-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2012.

Vestas says it is taking a number of measures, including redesigning turbine towers for easier transportation, to cope with the complex, mountainous terrain of the Mishan sites.
