No severance package for "disloyal" Eldrup, says DONG

Ousted DONG chief executive Anders Eldrup has been branded “disloyal” by two separate and damning legal inquiries, which conclude that he pushed through extraordinary bonuses and perks for a handful of employees in violation of company policy.

The most extravagant concessions were made to deputy chief executive Jakob Baruel Poulsen, one of the chief architects of DONG’s world’s leading offshore wind programme, who was allegedly offered a bonus of more than DKr20m ($3.59m) if he remained with the company thorough the spring of 2013.

Defending himself in the Danish press, Eldrup claims that in actuality Poulsen was offered less than half that amount, adding that it was “crucial” that he be persuaded to remain with the company.

But Eldrup's alleged misdeeds go deeper than any single employee or offer.
