RWE lodges key UK application for 1.2GW Triton Knoll project

Triton Knoll could join Hoyle in RWE's UK offshore wind portfolio

German-owned developer RWE npower renewables has lodged a planning application for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm with the UK’s Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC).

The application is for a plant with a capacity of up to 1.2GW located approximately 32km off the coast of Lincolnshire and 45km from the coast of North Norfolk in eastern England.

The application will now enter the examination stages of the IPC’s decision-making process. RWE says its application follows more than six months consideration of the feedback it received during a 42-day consultation exercise.
