China has seen its poorest wind resources in at least a decade

Longyuan, China’s biggest wind farm developer, may cut investment in new projects this year if wind resources remain at a record low, according to analysts.

China has experienced its poorest wind resources in at least ten years, according to analysts tracking wind data from Longyuan, the only company to report generation figures on a monthly basis.

The phenomenon began in July 2011 and has continued to affect the northern provinces of Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Hebei through January 2012, with the exception of strong resources in September.
