Goldwind is pursuing a strategy of international growth

Chinese wind turbine supplier Goldwind is claiming significant inroads in the Americas after winning business with more customers in the region.

The manufacturer says its Goldwind USA division has made sales of its permanent-magnet direct-drive turbines to three new developers.

They are Enel Green Power North America, Wind Energy Developers and Debenham Energy.

Goldwind gives no further details of the size of the orders or of the projects where its machines will be deployed.

But the Chinese company claims the deals are a vindication of the strategy of building “a truly local presence” in the Americas it began by opening an office in Chicago in 2010.
