consortium
won
the
tender,
run
by
Costa
Rican
utility
ICE,
with
a
bid
of
$0.122/kWh.
Its
$125m
Chiripa
wind
farm
will
use
1.5MW
Acciona
turbines
and
will
be
built
in
the
country’s
Guanacaste
province.
The
province
is
also
the
location
of
the
49.5MW
GDF
Suez
Guanacaste
wind
farm,
which
has
been
in
operation
since
2010.
The
Acciona/
Ecoenergia
consortium
beat
competing
projects
bids
from
Energia
y
Recursos
Renovables
(48MW)
and
Mesoamerica
(50MW)
to
secure
the
deal,
which
is
due
to
be
signed
with
ICE
later
this
week.
