Norway may use Chinese turbines at first offshore wind farm

Norway’s first offshore wind farm may use Chinese turbines to reduce costs, says the company developing the project.

Vestavind Offshore recently opened a tender for the construction of its 350MW Havsul 1 project off the country’s northwestern coast. It is Norway's first concession for a full-scale offshore facility.

Vestavind president Tore Engevik tells Recharge that he is closely following the development of large turbines by Chinese manufacturers as an alternative to Europe’s established players in the offshore market.
