Update: Vattenfall uses REpower turbines for 122MW Zuidlob

State-owned Swedish utility Vattenfall has tapped REpower to supply turbines for the 122MW Zuidlob wind farm in The Netherlands, a day after buying the project.

REpower, which is controlled by India’s Suzlon, will kit out Zuidlob with 36 of its 3.4M104 machines. With their high hubs and large rotors, REpower’s 3.XM generation of turbines are optimised for strong-wind conditions.

The deal deepens the ties between Vattenfall and Germany's REpower, which supplied offshore turbines to the Swedish group's recently-commissioned Ormonde project in the Irish Sea.
