Eneco hands Siemens 51MW contract for Scottish wind project

Dutch energy group Eneco has handed Siemens the turbine supply contract for its 51MW Lochluichart onshore wind farm in the Highlands of Scotland.

The German manufacturer will deliver 17 of its SWT-3.0-101 direct-drive turbines to the project, which is due for completion in 2013.

The deal includes a 15-year service and maintenance agreement.

Eneco also awarded UK company Jones Bros an engineering services contract, including cabling and electrical work for the project.

Work is scheduled to begin at the site at the end of the year.

Eneco already has a 17MW wind farm operational at Tullo in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
