Suzlon to develop international projects with Chinese utilities

Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon is in discussions with Chinese utilities to partner on projects overseas, says the group’s chief executive in China.

Richard He tells Recharge that Suzlon’s China office is close to signing its first deals with partners from among the country’s “big five” utilities, a move that is expected to benefit both sides.

“We’re working very aggressively and hope to see some deals in the next couple of months,” he says. Projects under discussion range from 20-150MW.

He does not reveal which companies Suzlon is talking to, but the “big five” includes China Datang and Huaneng, which are already customers of Suzlon, and have fast-growing wind farm…
