The
project,
known
as
the
European
Offshore
Wind
Deployment
Centre
(EOWDC),
is
75%
owned
by
Swedish
utility
Vattenfall
and
25%
by
the
Aberdeen
Renewable
Energy
Group
(
AREG).
French
oil
and
gas
services
company
Technip
was
brought
on
to
manage
the
design
and
construction
of
the
EOWDC
through
its
UK
subsidiary.
The
project
is
intended
to
act
as
a
test
bed
for
a
range
of
next-generation
turbines,
cables
and
other
kit,
while
also
providing
a

near-shore
marine
environment
for
