Norway's DNV chosen to supervise Cape Wind build

Oslo-based classification body DNV has been chosen to carry out design reviews and inspections for the US’s maiden offshore wind power project, Cape Wind.

As the independent “certified verification agent” (CVA), DNV will work as the US government's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement’s (BOEMRE's) “eyes and ears” to check the construction and operations plan for the development, as well as verifying and certifying structural aspects of the wind farm installation process.

“We know how important the Cape Wind project is for the development of the offshore wind industry in the US,” says DNV head of cleaner energy Christian Nerland.
