Goldwind sells turbines to third and fourth US customers

Goldwind has sold five of its 1.5MW permanent magnet direct drive turbines for wind projects in Ohio and Rhode Island, adding to its leadership position among Chinese suppliers in the US market. The units will be delivered in the fourth quarter.

Goldwind USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology , has now delivered or sold 118.5MW of turbines in the past two years. Earlier sales were in Minnesota and Illinois.

Gilbane Building Company has contracted with Goldwind to supply three turbines for Narragansett Bay Commission’s (NBC) wastewater treatment facility at Field’s Point in Providence, Rhode Island. The units are expected to supply between 55% and 60% of the facility’s existing electrical power demand.
