Vestavind Offshore, the developer behind what is likely to become Norway’s first offshore wind farm, has shortlisted four consortia to build the 350MW Havsul 1 project off the northwestern coast.
Vestavind,
a
group
of
seven
municipal
utilities
led
by
Bergen-based
BKK,
says
it
received
letters
of
interest
from
30
prospective
contractors
before
narrowing
the
field.
The
four
winners
include:
A
pairing
of
Norwegian
construction
and
civil
engineering
firm
Reinertsen
and
Swedish
utility
Vattenfall,
which
has
deep
experience
in
the
offshore
wind
sector,
and
is
currently
developing
projects
in
UK
and
German
waters.
A
standalone
bid
from
French
construction
giant
Technip.
A
consortium
known
as
ViviVentus,
comprising
Norwegian
contractor
AF
Gruppen,
power
company
Lyse
and
offshore
consultancy
Dr.
Techn.
Olav
Olsen.
