Markbygden in limbo as Svevind seeks funding

The Markbygden project in northern Sweden has political backing in Stockholm - but lacks the financial muscle needed to install the 1,101 turbines slated for the giant wind farm.

Developer Svevind has big plans. Markbygden will cover 450sq km of the Norrbotten region - far more land than any other onshore wind project in Scandinavia.
