Friends of the Supergrid names CEO, nabs new members

Friends of the Supergrid (FOS), a Brussels-based lobbying group aimed at building transmission infrastructure across the North Sea to accelerate the development of renewables, has named its first chief executive and nabbed three new members.

Ana Aguado will join as chief executive, switching from her current role as Brussels director of the European University Institute, where she worked as a profile raiser among media and EU institutions.

Aguado also has experience in the electricity transmission sector, having previously worked as secretary-general of the Association of the European Transmission System Operators.

FOS also added three new members to its roster: Nexans Norway, Bremen-based wpd offshore and Belgium-based CG Power Systems.

FOS, the brainchild of Mainstream Renewable Power chief executive Eddie O’Connor, was launched in March with 10 corporate backers, including Log in to read complete article.
