CPV, TVA conclude 20-year wind power purchase agreement

CPV Renewable Energy has reached agreement to deliver 165 megawatts of power over a 20-year period to Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) from its proposed Cimarron wind farm in southwestern Kansas. Details were not released.

The deal is the second for wind power in four months between CPV Renewable Energy, a unit of Competitive Power Ventures, based in Silver Spring, Maryland, and TVA, the largest US public electric utility.

In October, TVA agreed to purchase 200MW of power during 20 years from CPV Renewable Energy’s Ashley wind farm in North Dakota.
