Enel signs Chilean wind deal with Germany's SoWiTec

Italy’s Enel Green Power is linking up with a German wind farm developer to set up projects in the South American country of Chile, with a total capacity of up to 850 megawatts (MW)

Through its subsidiary Enel Latin America (Chile), the Italian utility has signed a project development agreement with SoWiTec Energias Renovables de Chile, an affiliate of Germany’s SoWiTec international.

The aim is to develop several wind power projects in Chile. Enel will have exclusive access to several wind farms being developed by SoWiTec, as well as the right to acquire these projects once they are fully authorised.

The projects have a preliminary capacity ranging from 60MW to 150MW and are located in the northern and central electrical system areas of Chile, which Enel says Log in to read complete article.
