EDPR seals 150MW in Texas PPAs

EDP Renewables North America says it has signed two long-term power purchase agreements for a 150MW wind project in Texas that is scheduled to enter service in 2016.

The developer did not name the off-taker, or identify the project or its location in the largest US wind state.

One 20-year PPA is for 50MW and the other for 100MW covers 15 years.

The wind farm is expected to qualify for the federal renewable electricity production tax credit.

Since 1 January 2013, EDPR has secured 1.38GW of PPAs, of which 250 MW are for projects that were already in operation and 1.130GW for those to be installed in 2014 and beyond.
