NextEra, DTE seek wind farm deal

NextEra Energy Resources is proposing to sell its 74.8MW Pheasant Run 2 wind farm in Michigan to DTE Electric, with both companies seeking Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval for the deal by 27 March.

The project, which utilizes General Electric 1.7MW wind turbines, entered full service last month.

DTE Electric is purchasing the facility’s full production under a 20-year contract. Terms of the offtake deal gave DTE Electric an option to buy the wind farm.
