EDF Renewable Energy bought the Roosevelt project from Infinity Wind Power.
The wind farm is expected to enter commercial service in December 2015 and has a 20-year power purchase agreement in place with a subsidiary of Xcel Energy for output from its 250MW first phase.
Ryan Pfaff, executive vice president at EDF RE, said: “Roosevelt is a good strategic fit for EDF RE, given its proximity to our growing fleet in the Texas Panhandle, and affords us the opportunity to expand our relationship with Southwestern Public Service, one of our valued utility partners."
The acquisition is EDF RE’s second major US wind deal this week. It also announced the purchase of the 194MW Spinning Spur 3 wind project in the Texas Panhandle from developer Cielo Wind Power.
