Spanish energy giant Iberdrola has completed the addition of 22MW at its La Ventosa wind complex in Mexico, bringing the total to 102MW.

The increase came thanks to the installation of 11 Gamesa G80 wind turbines at the site in Juchitán de Zaragoza in the State of Oaxaca.

The group’s Iberdrola Engineering & Construction unit carried out the work, which also entailed an upgrade of the wind farm’s grid link.

Iberdrola now boasts 230MW of wind operating in Mexico – all of it using Gamesa turbines.
