Vestas' V112 3MW turbine

Vestas has secured a 13-turbine deal for the extension of the Carape wind farm in Uruguay.

The contract will see the Danish group deliver 13 V112-3.0 MW machines to the plant, with delivery from the third quarter of next year and commissioning in early 2015.

The 39MW ordered by developer Vengano will add to the 50MW initially installed at Carape.

The deal includes a 17-year service agreement.

The fully-powered Carape will provide electricity to some 400,000 Uruguayans.
