Goldwind is on the march into new markets

Chinese wind turbine maker Goldwind has secured a 51MW supply deal in Cuba.

Goldwind will deliver 34 of its 1.5MW direct-drive machines to the La Herradura wind farm in Cuba’s Las Tunas province.

The contract is with Energoimport, a subsidiary of Cuba’s Union Electrica, Goldwind said in a statement.

The plant is a Class IIA site with an average speed of about 7.5m/s. Goldwind will provide customised versions of its 77/1500 DDPM turbines to suit the conditions.

The order comes with a two-year service agreement.

Delivery is due by the end of next year and the wind farm is expected to be linked to the Cuban grid by June 2015 – providing more than 1% Log in to read complete article.
