Following its success in the latest A-5 national power tender, the Brazilian company CER Energia will build a 234MW wind complex in the state of Bahia – and confirmed the Spanish manufacturer Gamesa as its turbine supplier.

In the auction held on Friday CER won six wind farms totalling 166MW of capacity. Those projects will be added to the 68MW already sold by the company in the wind-only reserve tender, held in August.

CER Energia's head, Marcelo Bruzzi, tells Recharge that the A-5's outcome was "excellent", especially because the price realised was higher than the one seen in the August tender.

“The average price for our 234MW complex is at R$119 ($51) per MWh, which I think is an excellent price for us”, says the CEO.
