First Acciona turbines online in Brazil

CPFL Renováveis has started operational tests of three Acciona turbines at the 120MW Atlântica wind complex, located in Brazil's southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The 3MW Acciona machines are the first to be put into service by the Spanish manufacturer in Brazil, where it recently opened a nacelle assembly plant in Bahia.

According to official data from Brazilian energy regulatory agency Aneel, the project's completion is due to the end of this year – although the country's watch-dog labels the complex’s construction as “delayed”.

The Atlântica complex will comprise four wind farms of 30MW each.
