Vestas wins 51MW more in Uruguay

Danish wind equipment group Vestas has notched up another success in Uruguay after securing a 51MW turbine order in the South American nation.

The manufacturer will supply 17 of its V112-3.0 MW machines to the Carape 1 wind farm being developed by Fingano.

Delivery is due in Q2 2014 and the plant is expected to be commissioned in the following quarter. The deal includes a 17-year service agreement.

Fingano is co-owned by a trio of diversified industrial and energy businesses – Corporación America, San José and Contreras. Carape 1 is its first wind venture.

Vestas had already booked orders for 90MW and 42MW in Uruguay this year and said its turbines accounted for 80% of installations in the country Log in to read complete article.
