The wind farm will use GE turbines

EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has taken full control of the 161MW Spinning Spur 2 wind project and confirmed GE as turbine supplier to the Texas plant.

EDF RE said it exercised its option to buy the 49% of Spinning Spur 2 it did not already own.

It bought the stake from development partner Cielo Wind Power.

EDF RE said it has signed a turbine supply deal with GE for 87 of its 1.85MW machines.

Construction at Spinning Spur 2 is due to begin in June, with operations scheduled to start in mid-2014.
