Siemens plans $7m US wind training centre

Siemens is planning to build a new training facility in Florida for wind-power service technicians.

The German group claims the $7m centre will be among the most advanced in the world, and will train about 2,400 staff a year from the US and rest of the Americas.

It will be sited near to the global HQ of the Siemens Energy Service business in Orlando.

The new training centre will be dominated by two full-size Siemens nacelles where trainees will be instructed in areas such as maintenance, health and safety, and optimising operational performance.
