REpower wins 350MW Canada order

REpower Systems has secured a turbine order totalling 350MW for a wind project in Canada – the biggest contract in the Germany-based manufacturer’s history.

Suzlon-owned REpower will provide 175 of its 2MW MM82 and MM92 turbines to EDF EN Canada, a unit of France’s EDF Energies Nouvelles, for the Rivière-du-Moulin wind farm in Quebec.

The project, located in the unorganised territories (UT) of Lac Pikauba and Lac-Ministuk, north of the City of Quebec, will be developed in two phases.

Construction of the first 150MW starts this year, with commissioning set for December 2014. The second phase of 200MW is scheduled for commissioning in December 2015.
