The
National
Nuclear
Security
Administration
(NNSA)
awarded
Siemens
the
deal
for
its
Pantex
wind
project,
an
11.5MW
plant
near
the
agency’s
facility
in
northern
Texas.
The
wind
farm
will
use
five
2.3MW
wind
turbines
and
will
generate
more
than
60%
of
the
annual
power
needs
of
NNSA’s
Pantex
Plant.
NNSA
expects
the
wind
farm
to
save
it
an
average
of
$2.9m
a
year
over
the
20
years
it
will
operate
under
the
deal
with
Siemens,
which
will
provide
an
annual
energy
production
guarantee.
