Brazil A-3 auction set for 6 June
Brazil's Mines and Energy Ministry has scheduled the nation's next A-3 power tender for 6 June.
According to the country's official bulletin, only wind, hydro and thermal projects are eligible to the competition. Solar power – included in 2013 tenders – has been excluded this time.
Power-purchase agreements (PPAs) to be offered for wind projects will have a timespan of 20 years. The output is expected to be delivered by January 2017.
Investors will have to sell at least 70% of the power production via contracts with distribution companies. The remaining output could be sold in the unregulated market.
Developers willing to participate in the A-3 tender have to register their projects with Brazil's Energy Planning Agency (EPE) by 28 February.
